Open a bottle it’s Sparkling Rosé Time!
If you’re a lover of delightful Rosé Champagnes or Sparkling wines (and with this we don’t mean ones that taste like pink liquid cotton candy – unless that floats your boat), or just would like to know more about these mouth-watering and sexy sparklers, then you’re about to meet several delicious summer sippers.
There is nothing more welcoming for a Summer time dinner than a lovely table set for 2 or even for a larger group like 8 (Corina would prefer for 2 and I don’t mean she & me) with simple salads, roast meats or other delectable summer dishes, a vase of colorful flowers and glasses filled with gorgeous garnet, pink or salmon colored rosé bubbly. You can have this “romantic “ setting in your backyard, balcony, your kitchen, or dining room, and you will see that the power of pink can transform an everyday occasion to a celebration. Ok, so now that we have gotten you into the pink mood here are some of our favorite Champagne and Rosé Sparkling wines, and let us know your favorites:
Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Rosé Champagne
This distinctive rose Champagne is one of our favorites for Holidays or Special Occasions. This luxurious bubbly is made from 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Meunier and 10% Chardonnay. It has ripe berry aromas with a touch of rose petals on the nose. Intense Pinot Noir notes matched elegantly with red fruit and baking spices aromas that evolve into a creamy, silky smooth texture in this Ultra romantic bottle of bubbles. This is our, and many of our friends, favorite celebration Champagne, and we all love the surprisingly long, lingering finish. It has nice acidity and pairs well with many delectable and rich foods. Price around $45.
Food Pairing: Lobster, Salmon or Pork Tenderloin with Citrus Sauce, fresh Goat Cheese, red Fruit Clafoutis.
Our Favorite Recipe: Lobster Salad in Endive
Cinzano Rosé Sparkling
A summertime sipper that gives a lot of berry for your buck. Playful with a hint of sophistication, this crisp Sparkling Wine dances lightly on your taste buds with strawberry and raspberries. Aromas of rose and wild berries summon a garden part pleasure and makes this wine perfect for a summer garden party. Fresh and refreshing, this Italian wine is nice for holidays or a casual appetizer party. Natural pink in color, it is a blend of Durello, Garganega, Trebbiano grapes. Price around $8-16.
Food Pairing: Lighter fare such as seafood appetizers, salads, and asian foods that are not too spicy. Potstickers or Lobster
Our Favorite Recipe: Calamari ala Tene Shake
This exciting Rosé is dramatic vibrant pink in the glass with rich ripe strawberry, fresh sweet red cherry and juicy watermelon aromas. Apple, pear, peach and stone fruit flavors with a seductive creamy texture. We always have a bottle handy just in case there is cause for a mini celebration. It is light and refreshing, but has enough body to stand up to a variety of foods. This makes it also ideal for cocktails! For a real summer treat try a Watermelon Sangria or a fanciful Ruby Slipper. Price around $12-18.
Food Pairing: A perfect partner with many spicy dishes from Asia to Latin America. We have paired this wine with Mediterranean seafood, German duck and roasted lamb. Corina loves it with Chicken Tikka Masala, Rice Pilau and Berry Clafouti.
Judit’s Favorite Recipe: Grilled Lamb Chops with Peach & Cheddar
Corina’s Favorite Recipe: Blueberry Limoncello Clafouti
Hope that you have many delicious Rosé moments this summer with your Family & Friends!
